Business Manager
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
· Assist the CEO with any new business acquisitions or new development and actively seek out new business partners or providers .
Premises
· Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met in all areas including staff, residents and general conditions at all houses.
· Ensure that all houses are complaint with mandatory requirements such as legionella testing, COSHH, gas servicing, electrical and PAT testing.
· Understand and observe fire regulations including ensuring weekly fire alarm tests and fire drills are undertaken at appropriate intervals and recorded.
· Liaise with external contractors to ensure a consistent level of service is provided across the Society which meets the needs of the residents.
· Maintain compliance with law, regulations, common practice standards and quality standards such as Safeguarding and ensure appropriate evidencing is recorded.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – BUSINESS MANAGER
Candidate Profile: You must have previous extensive experience of supervising/managing staff preferably within the housing sector. You should have the ability to multi-task, manage your own workload and remain calm under pressure. Some flexibility with hours will be required to attend training and meetings.
You should be highly organised, adaptable and able to work alone and have the ability to empathise and understand the needs of our residents and their families.
Educated to GCSE Grade C in English and Mathematics - ESSENTIAL
Previous managerial experience- ESSENTIAL
Experience of seeking out new business opportunities - ESSENTIAL
Experience of working in the supported/sheltered housing sector - ESSENTIAL
Experience of developing and delivering services - ESSENTIAL
Awareness and understanding of all relevant legislation - ESSENTIAL
Awareness of the importance of confidentiality - ESSENTIAL
Experience of working with elderly people - DESIRABLE
Good IT skills with knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook - ESSENTIAL
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal sensitively and tactfully with colleagues, volunteers residents and residents families- ESSENTIAL
Caring nature with the ability to empathise with older people - ESSENTIAL
Ability to work as part of a team - ESSENTIAL
Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure - ESSENTIAL
Willingness to undertake training as required - ESSENTIAL
Prepared to travel - ESSENTIAL
Flexibility with hours worked - ESSENTIAL
Driving licence with access to vehicle and the ability to travel within the Abbeyfield Wessex region.- ESSENTIAL
