What is independent living?

Independent living is specifically designed for active retired people who want to live independently but in a community setting.  All Abbeyfield Wessex Houses are situated close to public transport hubs and walking distance to local high streets.  Every House is fully accessible, complete with lifts to each floor and are modern and vibrant in design.

What do I get when I move in?

We understand this is a big decision to move from your property to an Abbeyfield Wessex House.  You are given a four week settling in process.  You have the time to decorate your suite - as you wish - to make it a proper home from home.  From the day you move in, you will be given a warm welcome from our House Manager, House team and, of course, your fellow residents.  Also, as part of the monthly fee, you will have access to a 24 hour on call system.

Finally, you won't have to worry about day to day cooking or cleaning as we provide a home-cooked, daily lunch and dinner and offer a weekly suite clean.  This means we do all the shopping and planning giving you the time to do exactly what you want to do.

We are proud to offer five Houses in the Dorset and Hampshire area.  Each House offers great community links in our neighbourhood.  All Houses have lovely communal areas to dine and socialise with many activities arranged, which you can choose to attend.
