Harleston House Refurbishment
In this blog we take a look at the refurbishment work that has been taking place over at Harleston House in Wimborne, Dorset.
In Autumn 2020 refurbishment work started over at Harleston House in Wimborne, Dorset.
The refurbishment will bring new and improved accommodation as well as improvements to communal spaces for residents to enjoy plus much more.
The house is due to re-open in Spring 2021 and we are so excited to unveil the fantastic improvements.
A little bit about Harleston House and Abbeyfield Wessex Society:
Harleston offers independent accommodation for older people living locally as well as the surrounding areas, the house is closely linked to the community and the front door is always open. At Abbeyfield Wessex Society, we enhance not only the lives of our residents, but older people living locally with our ethos to alleviate loneliness.
Within the society we have a designated Activities Co-ordinator that visits Harleston and our other houses regularly to host varied activities with our residents. House events are also hosted regularly such as trips to the seaside, festivities throughout Christmas plus much more.
By living with Abbeyfield Wessex Society we enable residents to live independently in spacious en-suite accommodation that provides a home-from-home environment whilst also offering support, friendship and security where you don't have to worry about your bills.
Residents can also enjoy two freshly home-cooked meals daily, plus ingredients to make a continental breakfast in your own room, so that you can start the day at your own pace.
People are living fuller and longer lives than ever before, and in many areas neighbours can be few and far between. This can mean that many older people feel isolated within their own community. At Abbeyfield Wessex Society you can still have your own front door but know that there is always someone to talk to.
There is always something to do and someone to talk to, I never feel lonely here.
