A Sunny Afternoon at the Bournemouth Airshow

On Friday 3rd September our Westbourne House residents enjoyed an afternoon at the Bournemouth Airshow.

The Airshow event comes to Bournemouth every year with the stars of the show being the famous RAFAT Red Arrows. We set off from the house in the glorious late summer sunshine and headed for the Argyll Bowls club on the Bournemouth West Overcliff first for lunch.

After lunch we walked out to the cliff top, took a seat and waited eagerly for the first part of the airshow to start.

The first part of the Airshow started at 1.30pm with The Blades Aerobatic Display Team then at 1.41pm the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight took place showcasing the Lancaster, Hurricane & Spitfire. At 2.03pm the RAF Chinook took to the skies for an impressive display. At 3pm we watched the Red Arrows, it was a truly fantastic display. Next up was the Chinook for a second display followed by the Wing Walkers.

After the displays we started to make our way back to the house. We had a fantastic afternoon soaking up the September sun with fellow residents, the atmosphere was brilliant and we made some lovely memories. We are already looking forward to next years Airshow!
