An Original Poem to Celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Resident Vicky has written a beautiful new poem commemorating our Queen's Platinum Jubilee

We are delighted to share Vicky's poem commemorating our Queen's Platinum Jubilee, which of course, is next weekend.  Vicky delights us regularly writing poetry.  Inspiration can visit Vicky at any time and she is always ready with a pen and pad to write down her rhyming couplets.  We have shared a few of Vicky's poems over the past year.  We look forward to keep sharing as well.

This one, however, is particularly special as we celebrate this special, royal occasion.  Vicky was moved to write after watching a documentary on the Queen's reign over the past 70 years.  We hope you enjoy the poem and have a very special weekend next week.

Your Majesty – We greet you

Have a royal happy day

On this memorable occasion

I feel confident to say

The pledges that you made us

To be loyal, wise, and strong

You carried out with dignity

When your own life, was no song

Even royals have their off days

With life’s troubles and its fears

And it’s hard to put a smile on

When you feel like shedding tears

So, amid the waves, the smiles, the cheers

Are the memories you must hide

And if you were granted just one wish

You’d have Phillip by your side
